After making some big save for the Maize and Blue this past season, Steve Racine has stepped in and continued to make some big saves. But this time, for his hometown team, the Buffalo Sabres. After Linus Ullmark went down with and illness, the Williamsville native joined the Sabres Development camp to round out the goaltenders. and he certainly made his presence felt.
Not only did he put up a strong performance in the Blue and Gold scrimmage on Saturday, he played a big role for Team Teal on the final day of camp. During the 3-on-3 “French Connection Tournament” Racine was excellent, not letting up a single goal in the final game, forcing it to a shootout.
And at the end of the day, Racine was a French Connection Cup winner with the Sabres crest on his chest. What an outstanding moment for a hard working young man!
